Brighton Bridal Hair Inspiration | Sussex Weddings!

Hello Everyone! This time of year our diary is usually packed with hair and make up trials for brides preparing for their spring and summer weddings so with lockdown we’re really missing this at the moment and can’t wait to get back to work!

Even though current restrictions mean we can’t see our clients, we’ve still been super busy replying to lots of enquiries and are really happy to hear that couples are still planning for their summer weddings this year - it’s not been an easy experience wedding planning in a pandemic so it’s especially uplifting to hear some brides are still remaining positive for their big weddings or planning micro weddings for spring and summer!

Due to popular demand this week we have also officially opened our diary for weddings up to 2023! So please get in touch if you’re looking for a bridal hair and make up artist in Brighton or Sussex for your wedding, we cover all wedding venues in East Sussex, West Sussex, Kent and Surrey and our friendly team would love to hear from you!

Some of the most popular Sussex wedding venues which have come up in enquiries this year have been for Buxted Park Hotel, Pangdean Barn, Long Furlong Barn, The Grand in Brighton and Pelham House in Lewes - all beautiful wedding venues which we can’t wait to return to when weddings are back to being celebrated!

As we haven’t been able to create any new ‘real hair’ content recently for social media we’ve also been creating some hairstyles on our training doll Tiffany and uploading them to Instagram so please follow us for some bridal hairstyle inspiration - it’s really nice to be able to get creative in lockdown and share them with you for ideas until we can finally meet each other & style real hair again! There’s updo inspiration, half up hairstyles, lots of braids, curls, buns and flowers which are some of our favourite hair accessories!

We’re looking forward to spring and keeping our fingers crossed for good news on the 22nd February roadmap announcement with regards to weddings - for all couples and suppliers looking for support or guidance at this time please follow What About Weddings on Twitter and Instagram - they’ve been amazing campaigning for a roadmap for weddings since the start of the pandemic and a real positive, uplifting force!

Happy New Year to our Sussex Brides and Grooms - Here's to 2021!

Hello Everyone! We hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas and celebrated as much as you can with the UK 2020 festive period restrictions in place in Brighton! Christmas has looked a little different this year although we still wanted to wish all our Sussex Brides and Brides-to-be a Happy New Year for 2021!

We absolutely LOVE weddings on NYE and at Christmas time (especially in gorgeous venues such as The Grand in Brighton or cosy Sussex barn wedding venues) and as most of the weddings we had booked in for this festive season were postponed this year we thought it would be nice to share with you some photos from a NYE styled wedding photoshoot we were part of in December!

The wonderful images were all captured by brilliant photographer Archie at Bowl of Corks and the concept, planning and coordination for this photoshoot was entirely created by Abigail at Bowl and Corks Weddings (we recommend newly engaged couples check this wedding planner out - she knows her stuff!) and we absolutely LOVE the on-trend burnt orange tones and colour coordinated theme chosen by Abigail for the shoot!

We styled our beautiful model Lauren’s hair into a low, textured bun with pearl accessories and created Lauren’s make up using a variety of cruelty free palettes including Charlotte Tilbury, Urban Decay and Too Faced. The gorgeous ‘rust’ colour eye look was created using a budget friendly Make up Revolution palette which was a lockdown treat for our kit and hope you love it as much as we do - please get in touch if you want to know which one we used!

Every year we are always thankful to our brides who book their wedding hair and make up with us and our fellow Sussex wedding suppliers from whom the support this year has been truly amazing! We are always grateful for having such wonderful clients and as 2020 has been a year like no other it’s even more appreciated!

We hope that 2021 will be a better year for the wedding industry and to all the brides who had to postpone their wedding in 2020 we’re sending you such a huge amount of love and hope that weddings can resume so that we can all celebrate with friends and family again soon.

Thank you to everyone who booked with us for their wedding in 2020 and 2021 - we wish you all a Happy and Healthy start to the New Year. However you have spent this time at home we hope it was a good one, stay safe and have faith that one day we’ll be reunited with our loved ones, celebrating weddings bigger and better than ever before!

Welcome to our New Blog, Featuring Yanyu and Guy's Brighton Wedding!

One very memorable micro wedding this year was Yanyu and Guy’s wedding in August - it was such a beautiful, chilled morning with the bridal preparations at Hotel Du Vin in Brighton with a ceremony at Brighton Town Hall followed by photos on the beach by photographer Emma May.

Yanyu chose a relaxed bridal hair style with a fishtail braid styled by me with dried flowers and a drape veil to accessorise and her natural bridal make up was styled by Nadia. We absolutely loved the simplicity of Yanyu’s embellished dress, her gorgeous tattoos and accessories teamed with Guy’s subtle pink bow tie!

It was such a pleasure to be part of Yanyu’s wedding morning and every wedding we’ve been part of this year - they may of been micro in size but certainly not in love and cheer! We can’t wait for the wedding industry to reopen as before but until then myself, Claire and Nadia will continue to celebrate the love with any size wedding party and look forward to sharing them with you!

Hello Everyone and Welcome to our New Blog!

We are super excited to publish our first post and hope this space will be filled with all things hair, make up and wedding related for our future Brighton and Sussex Brides plus updates on what we’ve been up to!

2020 has been somewhat of an eventful year (or rather a ‘non-eventful’ year seems more appropriate!) and has been especially tough for brides who had to postpone their weddings and the wedding industry as a whole.

Despite the sadness this has caused for a lot of our brides we are still so excited to celebrate on postponed dates in 2021 or 2022 and feel fortunate to of celebrated some very special micro weddings this year between lockdowns with brides who were happy to continue on a smaller scale!
